Man-o-gram

Most young men won’t see a doctor unless they’re broken or bleeding. That insight was the brief.

The Man-o-gram was a wake-up call, a parody of an intervention in which a guy’s concerned friends and family lure him over under the pretense of watching a football game, only to stage a full health ambush. Among those gathered: Washington Redskins all-pro linebacker Ryan Kerrigan, who is inexplicably, perfectly, just walking on a treadmill in the corner.

The spot worked because the premise was absurd enough to be funny and true enough to land. Sometimes the best way to get a guy to take his health seriously is to make him laugh at himself first.
